Directions to Charlemont Reservation:
Charlemont Reservation: Gravel Parking Lot, Picnic Area, Hitching Post in a grassy area, No running water, No restroom facilities.
The trails are primitive and natural there are about 5+ miles of trail. Hikers are seen infrequently as the trails are used by horse riders and hunters. The trails are mostly wooded with a several open meadow areas with ponds. There are small hills and ravines with a few larger hills, several small creek crossings but no rivers. Some areas can be muddy in wet weather but most of the trails stay dry.
Clare Mar Lakes Campground Directions:
Clare-Mar Lakes Campground: There is a large area for camping and pickiting horses, an open area with some trees. There are serveral water hydrents throughout the camping area, some picnic tables, portable restrooms, and a cement building with showers/restrooms a short distance from where we set up camp. Individual fire rings are avaible as well as a community fire ring every night, bring a chair and visit. Charlemont is a short ride from the campground to the trailhead.
